In demand: Whose Museum Is It?

Brief interviews with presenters at the symposium "Whose Museum Is It?

Who owns the Museum? This seemingly simple question was posed in fresh ways in relation to a changing society at the symposium "Whose Museum Is It? Questions and Conditions Regarding Museum Mediation in a Global Context" which took place at the K20 in January of 2017.

The symposium was organized by the Education Department of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein Westfalen in the framework of the project "museum global," and brought together museum experts and communicators/mediators from the realms of art and culture, as well as educators from around the world. Addressed was the question: What has the museum represented up to this point? And how might it succeed in addressing a diverse public in the future?
